Rise by Lifting Others with CECO

As a region we want to cultivate opportunities for all people and communities to grow, connect and enjoy the highest quality of life. That is why the San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization (CECO) is focusing its 2020 Fall Campaign around the vision of "we rise by lifting others!"

The annual drive will focus on two important missions this year: sharing a grant opportunity with organizations in your community, and engaging more employees to sign up for bi-weekly payroll contributions and support fundraising efforts that will ultimately allow CECO to grant more money to more nonprofits.

Sharing the Application

If you know of a local nonprofit organization that could benefit from a grant allocation to improve services that address the diverse needs of our San Diego region, let them know about CECO. And let them know that CECO is now accepting grant applications for 2021.

These grants, which vary from a couple hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars, support vulnerable populations such as seniors, people experiencing homelessness, at-risk youth and people with disabilities.

Local nonprofits can download, fill out and submit applications until Nov. 2.

To help nonprofits with the process, CECO is hosting a free virtual "Grants 101 Workshop" for community members to learn the basics of applying for a grant. The workshop will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 from noon to 1:30 p.m. RSVP online.

Sharing Your Generosity

CECO is funded entirely by donations from County employees like you. CECO has distributed more than $6.9 million throughout the San Diego region to local non-profit organizations and employees in crisis since its founding in 1956.

If you are not a bi-weekly contributor, consider becoming one. You can give as little as $2 per pay period. A little can go a long way for local nonprofits.

See CECO pledge instructions or reach out to your CECO Department Representative or sdceco@sdcounty.ca.gov for any questions.
