314 County Employees Volunteered for Point-in-Time Count
/This year, 314 County Employees volunteered to take part in the region’s Point-in-Time Count to find people experiencing homelessness.
The Point-in-Time Count is led by the Regional Task Force on Homelessness and provided a one-day count of the number of people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County, including those in emergency shelters and safe parking lots.
The results are used to apply for federal and state funding to help people experiencing homelessness and find solutions on how to best serve this vulnerable population.
This year, hundreds of community volunteers gathered in different locations throughout the region where they are separated into teams, and they walk or drive the streets, parks, beaches and valleys looking for people who are experiencing homelessness.
