An El Monte County Park visitor recently found an owlet that had fallen off its nest and got stranded. Typically, park rangers leave owlets alone, but rangers felt she should not be near the public. They felt it was essential that she #StayHomeSD until she was ready to leave the nest.

Employees of the Recorder/Clerk division of ARCC celebrate one of their busiest days of the year in a sweet way. While more than 100 couples were saying “I do” on Friday, employees showed appreciation to their coworkers with balloons and candy-grams. In its fifth year, this heartfelt event is now a Valentine’s Day tradition. More than 1,000 candy valentines and more than 700 balloons were delivered this year.

Public Health Preparedness and Response staff recently toured San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). While the site has been closed for many years, it still contains some contaminated materials. The visit allowed staff to better understand the impact the site could have in a public health emergency.
