Attend Speaking Our Stories IV
/Join “Speaking Our Stories IV” from noon to 1 p.m., May 2. The lunch and learn, which coincides with Mental Health Month, will feature a panel of speakers who will touch on their experiences of trauma.
The event is in collaboration between the Middle Eastern Employee Resources Group, San Diego County Latino Association, County of San Diego Filipino-American Employees Association and the Emerging Workforce Association.
“Our trauma can affect our mental health, and speaking about our stories serves the purpose of healing and relating with one another, as often what we have experienced has been experienced by others.”

Davinder Kaur, human services specialist with HHSA; author of “Forced to Marry Him” and forced marriage survivor
Tamara Murphy, departmental budget manager with HHSA and mass shooting survivor
Payzee Mahmod, leading campaigner with Iranian and Kurdish Women's Rights Organisation and child marriage survivor
Mary Rodriguez, program coordinator with Outside The Lens and abuse survivor
