Fraud Alert for Employees
/With the rise in unemployment claims, there has also been a rise in fraudulent unemployment claims filed using employees’ personal information including Social Security numbers. Scammers are illegally filing for unemployment in the name of other people in the hopes of cashing in on unemployment benefits.
You do not need to do anything at this time. However, if the Department of Human Resources believes that you have been a victim of this type of fraud, your departmental human resources officer will reach out to you.
It’s a good reminder to continue to be vigilant on protecting your personal information.
