CECO Names Champions
/The San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization (CECO) recently named its 2019 Champions in a virtual ceremony.
The Pledge Champion Award, which is awarded to the department with the highest number of new one-time contributors and/or pledge increases, went to Library and Housing and Community Development Services with a tie of nine new biweekly contributors and/or pledge increases.
And the Fundraiser Champion Award, which is awarded to the department that raises the most funds via one-time fundraisers, went to Agriculture, Weights and Measures. The department’s success came as a result of their raffle baskets fundraiser!
The Champion Awards was created two years ago as a way to recognize the tremendous work the CECO board of directors dedicate towards outreach and fundraising.
CECO is funded by the generosity of County of San Diego employees and retirees through biweekly payroll contributions, monthly or one-time donations, and/or volunteering in CECO events. 100% of raised funds get distributed to local nonprofits via grants and assisting community employees experiencing a financial crisis.
